The UNEP report was submitted to the Federal Government in 2011, but left unimplemented until 2016 when President, Muhammadu Buhari decided to put it on the front burner. And HYPREP has, since then, diligently and doggedly worked towards actualizing Mr. President’s vision for Ogoniland. NATIONAL Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency, NOSDRA, has said that stakeholders are  handicapped in the actual cleaning of oil polluted Ogoniland, Rivers State, due to continued oil spill and illegal refining in the area.

PORT HAR-COURT— In view of the commencement of the clean-up of the polluted Ogoniland, Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, CISLAC, has urged the Federal Government to set up a special desk where complaints and information about the project would be submitted.
