All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, has said that there was no evidence linking the state governor, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, to the shooting that occurred at Auchi, when his deputy, Dr Pius Odubu, visited the area to meet with APC delegates.

EDO State Commissioner of Police , Mr. Chris Ezike, said yesterday, in Benin, that the office of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, has taken over investigation into the alleged assassination attempt on Edo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu, in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

The divergent views between Governor Adams Oshiomhole and his deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu over last Saturday’s reported attack on the latter has exposed the suspicious relationship that has existed between the first two citizens of Edo State. Odubu had alleged that those against his aspiration were behind the attack that left two of his security aides critically wounded. The governor, however, disagreed and said that Odubu’s supporters were the ones who fired the shots at the entourage of the deputy governor.

EDO State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu, has described as laughable the statement credited to Governor Adams Oshiomhole through the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Kassim Afegbua, that he (Odubu) equipped thugs to disrupt and shoot at his security aides during the attack on him and his entourage in Auchi, weekend.

THE Edo State Commissioner for Energy and Water Resources, Mr Washington Osifo, yesterday, denied allegation that his boss, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, directed him to write a petition against the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Pius Odubu, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
