FORECASTS showing that near universal adherence to mask-wearing and social distancing mandates in hard-hit countries could prevent up to 73,085 deaths in Sub-Saharan Africa by December 1, 2020, but the death toll could more than double if universal safety guidelines such as wearing of face masks and social distancing are not adhered to.
