African 400m women record holder, Falilat Ogunkoya will kick off activities of the 2019 Warri/Effurun Peace Marathon on October 30 in Warri with the unveiling of the a new logo, which the organizers say will mark a new turn for the event.
Lagos targets 150, 000 participants for 2019 marathon
No fewer than 150,000 athletes both locally and internationally are expected to participate in the 4th edition of Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode said on Monday.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode at this year’s annual Access Bank Lagos City Marathon edition of the tournament held at Eko Atlantic City (EAC), Victoria Island, said he was tired of handing over the star prizes of the marathon to athletes from East Africa, assuring that concerted efforts would be made to reverse the trend and prepare Nigerians to compete favourably for the prizes.
