AN important political question in Delta State today is if the incumbent governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, representing Delta North senatorial district (Anioma nation) should be allowed to do two terms since Delta Central (Urhobo)  and Delta South senatorial district, comprising Isoko, Ijaw and Itsekiri took their turns two tenures (eight years) in the past.

I am totally shocked at a certain article I read on pages 3 and 41 of The Nation newspaper, precisely on Monday, March 26, 2018. The commentator, Darlington Anule in his opinion titled,  “Between Ngige’s One-Man Show And The Blind Eagle Eye”  misguidedly sought to ridicule and demean the good image of Chief Frank Ovie Kokori, a former General Secretary of one of the most powerful unions in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, {NUPENG}.

WOMEN in Kokori, the country home of arrested suspected Delta State kingpin, Kelvin Oniarah, who protested nude, weekend, over alleged desecration of the community’s ‘Igban’ shrine by soldiers, formed a human shield around the shrine, yesterday, to stop military men from destroying it.

FOOT soldiers of arrested DeltaState kidnap kingpin, Kelvin Oniarah, who are overawed by soldiers, deployed to Kokori, Ethiope-East West Local Government Area, to smoke them out from their stronghold, have resorted to making ritual sacrifices to scare away the security agents.

POLICE open up: SINCE last Tuesday, when the most wanted kidnap/armed robbery kingpin in Delta State, Kelvin, dared the security agencies in the state by showing up at his country home, Kokori in Ethiope-East Local Government Area, which is supposedly under watch by security agents, and issued a 60-day ultimatum to the State and Federal Governments, Deltans and other concerned Nigerians have been waiting for the police to speak on the effrontery.
