All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State has said that members of the party were not part of the celebration of the return of Chief James Ibori, a former governor of the state, who recently returned to the country after serving a prison sentence in the United Kingdom, UK, over money laundering charges.

FORMER Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, yesterday reaffirmed his innocence of charges leveled against him in the United Kingdom where he recently served a jail term, saying, “I am not a thief.”

SINCE he took flight from the country, on the spur of the moment, about six years ago, and subsequent trial and conviction in the United Kingdom, the second civilian Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, had always dreamed of the day he would finally return to his fatherland.

But Ibori’s friends and political associates are already planning their own special reception; a reunion of Ibori’s friends/ loyal supporters and those who left the Ibori fold …and even those who have been totally opposed to Ibori but who have come around now to his side

GOVERNOR of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, yesterday, said he was unacquainted with any arrangement by a former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, who returned to the country after his jail term in the United Kingdom, last Saturday, to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
