The cash crunch that hit the entire country for two months between February and March 2023, following the redesign of the naira by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the withdrawal of the old notes from circulation forced the bandits, herdsmen and terrorists who had been terrorising the country to temporarily suspend their murderous activities.
