I AM trying to get a copy of Prof. Pat Utomi’s latest book as I am fascinated by the chapter on how criminals hijacked the Nigerian political space. We cannot forget in a hurry how Senator Nuhu Aliyu got up one day on the floor of our Senate and screamed that “there are criminals in this chambers”.  The ex-cop was said to have seen a man he once arrested on a robbery charge sitting there as a senator.

Enahoro emerges World Veterinary Councilor

The Vice President, African Veterinary Association (AVA), Dr Gani Enahoro has been elected the World Veterinary Association, WVA Councilor for Africa. In a keenly contested election, Enahoro beat other two candidates, Dr. Clive Peter Marwick from South Africa and Dr. Berhanu Admassu Abegaz, an Associate professor from Ethiopia to emerge the World Councilor for Africa. He will take the mantle of leadership from the outgoing Councilor, Prof. Maria Antonieta Baptista from Angola, on August 30, 2017. It is the first time in the 154 years old organization that a Nigerian Veterinary Doctor would be representing Africa as a Councilor.
