As part of its commitment to complement the Federal Government efforts in combatting coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the private sector-led Coalition against COVID-19 (CACOVID), yesterday donated testing equipment worth N1.4 billion to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

With recent measures by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and individual state governments’ efforts to ease the nationwide lockdown, which will lead to the full re-opening of the economy, fear of a spike in the numbers of people infected through community spread has become more pronounced as people in rural communities see themselves as distant from the reality of contracting the dreaded coronavirus disease

CACOVID donates health equipment to Kogi isolation centre

The Coalition Against (CACOVID),  a private sector initiative on Wednesday donated a 100-bed isolation centre to Osun State government, saying the gesture was aimed at complementing the fight against coronavirus pandemic in the state.

The private sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) yesterday strengthened its  fight against the scourge with the handover of a fully equipped isolation centre in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and donation of beds and    accessories in Enugu, Enugu State. 
CACOVID is a joint initiative of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Aliko Dangote Foundation, Access Bank, UBA, GTBank and private sector organisations. 

The Dangote and Access Bank’s Managing Director, Herbert Wigwe Private sector-led Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) has offered food relief to Lagosians living in Lagos Island to complement government’s efforts to cushion the effect of the coronavirus  epidemic. 

Sustaining intentional efforts towards ensuring the coronavirus is contained, the private sector-led Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) is set to hand over isolation facilities set up in Rivers and Kano states to their respective state governments.
