IJAW youths from oil rich Labolouseigha community in Burutu council area of Delta State yesterday gave their nod to Nigeria Agip Oil Company to carry out their operations in the community, promising to ensure peace and safety of company facilities and personnel.

According to the letter, “we, the PDP members in Ewu political zone have decided that after eighteen years of deprivation in the political arrangement of Ughelli South Local Government Area, being the second populated political bloc in the council, in the spirit of equity and fair play, give us an opportunity to produce the next chairman of the local government council.

Dr. Ojo, who fielded questions from journalists at his country home, Umutu, stated that as a part of his electioneering campaign promises, he was presently on tour of public schools in the area and distributing note books and other educational aids to pupils and students, while 20 indigent students have been awarded scholarships.

The petition argued that “by virtue of the provisions of section 2 of the NDDC Act, a person to be nominated must be a person with proven integrity and credibility and with the greatest respect, the said nominee is not qualified as a person of proven integrity”.
