Chief Executive Officer of Arcview Investment Limited, Dr. Segun Oshundairo, has urged professionals in the built environment to embrace Artificial Intelligence, AI, saying the technology is transforming the way businesses operate and enabling professionals to work smarter.

Oshundairo, a real estate developer and architect, in an interview with Vanguard at the 13th Prof. Adetokunbo Babatunde Sofoluwe Memorial Lecture organized by the University of Lagos Alumni Association, Lagos State branch, in conjunction with Yaba LCDA, described AI as a “blessing” to the present generation because of its ability to provide innovative solutions and simplify complex tasks.

Oshundairo is the CEO of Arcview Investments Limited, a real estate development company based in Lagos, with projects across Lagos, Ogun and Osun states.

According to him, AI has enormous potential to transform the built environment through improved design, automation and faster access to information.

He said: “AI, that is Artificial Intelligence, is a blessing to this world, to this generation, because it brings solution. It brings innovation. It makes your job easier and faster.

“Like us in the built industry, we now have 3D designs. We have 3D designs, you can automate your processes. It helps you to be more innovative in everything you are doing.

“In fact, for me, it simplifies your job. With AI, if you need any information, it is at your beck and call. It helps you to design and gives you options.”

Oshundairo, who disclosed that Arcview Investments Limited had developed more than 30 estates across Lagos, Ogun and Osun states, said the growing application of AI presented an opportunity for professionals in the real estate and construction sectors to improve productivity.

He stressed that professionals who failed to adopt the technology risked being left behind in an increasingly competitive business environment.

“If you are out there and you have not embraced AI, then you are not doing yourself good. You are not working smarter; you are still working hard.

“So, if you want to work smarter, embrace AI technology,” he said.

He commended the organisers of the lecture, describing the programme as timely, particularly at a period when AI is rapidly influencing different sectors of the economy.
