LAGOS— Chain Reactions Africa, a Lagos-based independent communications consultancy, has won the Large Consultancy category of the inaugural Africa Consultancy Performance Index, ranking third overall among Africa’s top five PR consultancies.
The recognition by Earned First, a global PR intelligence and media platform, was announced at PRAXIS Africa during Africa PR Week in Nairobi on August 26, 2026.
Chain Reactions Africa placed third overall, behind South Africa’s Retroviral and Dialogue Communications, with Clockwork and Burson Africa completing the top five.
The consultancy emerged winner in the Large Consultancy category after its performance was assessed across five areas: business performance, creative impact and client outcomes, innovation and thought leadership, talent and culture, and industry leadership. It recorded particularly strong results in business performance and creative impact.
The ranking adds to Chain Reactions Africa’s growing list of continental and global honours, following its second-place overall finish at the SABRE Awards and recognitions at the African SABRE Awards, World Public Relations Awards and Commonwealth Environment & CSR Awards.
Founder and CEO of Earned First, Arun Sudhaman, said the index was created to recognise consultancies demonstrating measurable strength across business, creativity, innovation, talent and industry leadership.
Reacting, Chain Reactions Africa Founder and Managing Director/Chief Strategist, Israel Opayemi, said the recognition affirmed the consultancy’s journey and its ambition for African communications.
He said the ranking showed that an African independent consultancy could build world-class capabilities, compete with global firms and remain rooted in the continent’s realities and opportunities.
Founded in 2010, Chain Reactions Africa focuses on strategic advisory, creativity, technology, research and cultural intelligence. In 2025, it recorded 18.5 per cent revenue growth, increased its workforce from 44 to 53 and achieved a 60 per cent new-business win rate.
Its notable campaigns include LAMATA’s public engagement for Nigeria’s first intra-city electric rail line, NIVEA’s SABI hygiene education programme, which contributed to a 40 per cent sales increase, and Indomie Heroes.
Its innovation portfolio includes Ara by Prophet, an AI and cultural-intelligence platform, and ÀRÁMÀNDÀ, an audience-intelligence and research platform
