‘Lowkey Adults’, a new young adult film written by Fatimah Binta Gimsay with Gimsay alongside Susan Ganchung Pwajok as executive producers is set to premiere on July 12, exclusively on SusanPwajokTV on YouTube.
“Low-key Adults” is a new young adult film that explores the complexities of adulthood through a heartfelt and humorous narrative. It tackles themes of adulthood, self-discovery, friendships, heartbreaks, and life’s pressures, making it relatable to young audiences.
The movie follows Jaiyeola Funtua, a young woman navigating love, loss, and laughter after a painful heartbreak. She makes a daring bet to win over her ex’s mysterious rival, Hamza Bello, which sets off a chain of events that tests her relationships and sense of identity.
According to the producers, the movie is a collaboration between some of the most exciting young voices in Nigerian storytelling.
Directed by Fatimah Binta Gimsay and Stephanie Dadet, Low-key Adults features a talented cast led by Susan Ganchung Pwajok, alongside Shamz Garuba, Adeoluwa Akintoba, Mallum Arik, and Omosalewa Fafowora.
“Storytelling is the heartbeat of our culture, and I’m thrilled to share ‘Lowkey Adults’ with the world – a film that laughs, cries, and grows with you. The movie is a subtle take on adulthood and the responsibilities that come with it,” Gimsay said.
