An Indian firm, Global PowerGen Business, has pledged to partner with the Nigeria government to accelerate the growth of its economy.

The president, Global PowerGen Business, Madan Patil, who made the pledge during an event tagged “Partnering for Success in Nigeria with Kirloskar & Multivista”,   expressed confidence in the Nigerian economy, noting that it will grow steadily. The event aimed at building connections, getting hands-on experiences, and unlocking technical development, which was held in Lagos,  brought together experts, including the Kirloskar leadership team, stakeholders in the power generation sector, and others. It also featured the unveiling of the world’s smallest 1000 kVA generator, OptiPrime, and Dual Fuel Kit, among others.

Patil stated that, “Nigerian economy is going to grow multifold. Also, the aspirations of the people and the initiatives of the government are going to help to grow the business and the economy here, and we also want to partner in the growth.

“I have been in Nigeria for some time now. My take is that this is the country to be in as far as the power generation products are concerned, because when we see the global markets, the products are mostly in the standby but here the products are prime in nature and this is where the utilisation happens. This is the area where the majority of power generation products are available.”

He added, “We at Kirloskar are very strong in technology and innovation. However, we have not popularised the products much. So this is an opportunity to take all our products to all the customers out here as well as bring in more and more innovation and efficiency in the products we offer.”

Also speaking, the Director of Multivista West Africa Ltd, Mahesh Jayaranan, said that Kirloskar as a generator manufacturer, as a power generating equipment manufacturer, has been in India for over 100 years, disclosing that,

“In the last 15-20 years, we have been expanding aggressively across the globe. Today, we are present in over 60 countries globally. In Africa, as MultiVista, we are present in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and we have established our business in Nigeria.”

He stated further that “This was the right time for us to showcase our newer technology which is called the OptiPrime, which is the first of its kind. And like you saw today, we’ve also launched officially the world’s smallest 1000 kVA generator, and that is going to be available in Nigeria soon.

“Given that there is also a lot of availability of gas and we thought it would be a good option to launch our gas generators.

“Along with the gas generators, for people who already have diesel generators, we have launched today the Dual Fuel Kit, which is a very good and economical model for our customers in Nigeria who have diesel as well as gas. This will be a very good hybrid mechanism for that.”

Assuring customers that the products are affordable, Jayaranan said,  “Apart from investing in technology, we have made sure that these products are affordable in the Nigeria market. When I say affordable, we are making sure that technology is absolutely at its forefront in terms of innovating along with keeping the prices well under control.

“And we are making it extremely reliable where people don’t have to look for regular services and all of that.”
