TWO Urhobo Citizens, Ovie Christian Oboarienru D. Esq and Comrade Cassidy Eni Christian respectively on Sunday said the campaign of calumny against TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, TSSNL by the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU Worldwide led by Chief Ese Gams Owe is “most undesirable.
This is contained in a statement signed and made available to Our Correspondent in Ughelli .
They urged Urhobo who felt disgruntled over their inclusivity or dissatisfaction by TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited to hold their respective leaders in those mandate areas accountable for their actions and not resort to maligning TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited.
They also noted that TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited is not “Anti-Urhobo” as erroneously as the President-General of Urhobo Progress Union,UPU Worldwide, Ese Gams Owe purportedly made it seem in a recent publication against the private security firm.
They added that TANTITA Security Services Limited In its benevolence, policy of inclusivity and transparency, notable leaders from Urhobo TANTITA mandate areas were asked to submit names of Urhobo men and women for the pipeline security enlistment to undertake the task of protecting the pipelines in their respective domain.
According to them,”Names were submitted by those leaders and the personnel were duly engaged with their salaries fixed.
“Should any Urhobo leader or group feel disgruntled over their non inclusivity or dissatisfaction, the appropriate approach should be to hold your respective leaders in those mandate areas to account for their actions and not resorting to maligning TANTITA SECURITY SERVICES LIMITED.
“No doubt, some dubious leaders may be guilty of shortchanging their own thereby jeopardizing the good intent of TANTITA.
“If that were to be case, such leaders should be identified and made to face the consequences of their odious actions.”
They pointed out that TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited won the pipeline surveillance contract fairly and squarely by way of a competitive bidding process amongst several competing security companies.
“Resorting to mudslinging TANTITA as in this instant case, reeks of insincerity and ingratitude.
“We are aware that no indigenous security company whether in the past or present has been this more transparent and benevolent than TANTITA in its dealings with the Urhobos.
“Rather than disparage a company who has not only been a beacon of hope to all and sundry in the Niger Delta but Nigeria at large (as it concerns improved oil production capacity), it should be eulogized.” It added.
