GT USA Integrated Link, a subsidiary of Gold Treats, has launched a new mobile application combining escrow payment services with social communication tools, aiming to address rising concerns over trust and fraud in digital transactions.
Unveiled at a media briefing held in Victoria Island, Lagos, the Gold Treats App offers users a secure platform for financial transactions alongside features like internet-based voice and video calls. The app is designed to support transactions between individuals, businesses, and merchants by holding payments in escrow until conditions are met.
The launch comes amid growing concerns about online fraud, with a Juniper Research report projecting global losses from online payment fraud to reach $343 billion between 2023 and 2027. Nigeria, where digital commerce continues to grow, has also faced challenges in establishing secure and trustworthy platforms for users.
According to the developers, the app allows users to track transactions in real time, place restrictions on screenshots or screen recordings during calls, and resolve disputes through a built-in legal process. It also features support for various payment methods, including bank transfers and digital wallets, with minimal KYC requirements based on transaction risk.
Other notable features include a “Single Click Giveaway” function, which allows for quick disbursement of token-based funds, and a “Cardless Merchant Payment” option for transactions without the use of physical cards.
