The Iluelogbo Grammar School Old Students Association (IGSOSA) has elected Engr—Adidi David Owhairuoro as its new president. The keenly contested election, held over the weekend through an online voting process, concluded with Owhairuoro emerging as the president-elect.
A native of Aviara in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Engr. Owhairuoro expressed gratitude to members of the association and fellow contestants during his acceptance speech.
“I heartily appreciate all members for choosing me as the president-elect to lead this great IGSOSA personalities,” he said. “I have no words to express this heartfelt love as you have displayed. I accept my election to this exalted office and I am honoured beyond measure.”
Describing his victory as a collective achievement and a call to serve, he pledged to elevate the association’s legacy and contribute meaningfully to its development.
“The victory and the seat is for all of us and a call to serve our beloved Iluelogbo Grammar School and IGSOSA, which I term as giving back to our foundation,” he said.
“With your cooperation and collective will, and with the unflinching support I believe in, we will achieve the agenda and vision as outlined in my campaign manifesto.”
He acknowledged the contributions of past leaders, particularly Apostle Ogbokor, and extended a hand of fellowship to other candidates.
“I know IGSOSA is one family with one purpose. Therefore, I extend my hand of fellowship to Engr. Obiebi Uyouyo and all other contestants who could not make it to the EXCO, to join hands with me and form a formidable team to move IGSOSA forward.”
Owhairuoro also commended the electoral committee for conducting a credible process.
He expressed appreciation to several individuals for their support and contributions to IGSOSA, including Elder Isaac Ogbokor, Chief Macaulay S., Chief Matthias Otobo, Chief Ogba Solomon, Pst. (Barr.) Fredrick Ovah, Mr. Oki John Mark, and many others. He made special mention of Mr. Francis Anyare for his calm leadership and steady contribution to the growth of the association.
“In light of all the above, I humbly dedicate this victory and the president’s seat to God Almighty,” he said.
“I did not forget the motto of Iluelogbo Grammar School – ‘Hard work and discipline.’ This will form the base for the new EXCO. I will be open to advice and constructive criticism, which will help build synergy to achieve our set goals and objectives.”
