This Saturday, July 5, over 300 men from across Nigeria will converge in Lagos, not for a business summit or political rally, but for something far deeper: a spiritual reset.
Tagged TarryMen, the gathering is the first national prayer convocation by The Mended Men Project, a faith-based initiative tackling the crisis of masculinity, emotional trauma, and spiritual confusion among men. The event, themed #FactoryReset, aims to offer a space for worship, prayer, and inner healing.
Organisers describe it as “not a conference, but a call to war” — a war against confusion, compromise, and the generational cycles of broken masculinity.
Global suicide statistics show that a man takes his life every minute. For the organisers, that reality underscores the urgent need for spaces like TarryMen.
“By the time someone finishes reading this, another man somewhere will have lost a silent battle,” said Tolu ‘TM’ Moyan, founder of The Mended Men Project. “TarryMen exists to change that.”
Through intense worship, bold intercession, and prophetic direction, attendees are expected to realign their identity, rediscover purpose, and find healing.
The gathering will be followed by the launch of ReForged on Monday, July 7 — a long-term rehabilitation and mentorship programme focused on young boys at the Boys Remand Home in Oregun, Lagos
ReForged is designed to equip troubled boys with the tools to become healthy, purpose-driven men through character development, mentoring, and spiritual guidance.
“We’re raising a different kind of man — one who has faced his pain, found healing, and chosen purpose over passivity,” Moyan said. “TarryMen and ReForged are the first chapters in this redemptive story.”
With the twin launches of TarryMen and ReForged, The Mended Men Project hopes to ignite a national movement of restored masculinity — one that reclaims purpose, redefines legacy, and fosters healing for men and boys alike.
Organisers say this is only the beginning. “TarryMen is not just an event,” Moyan added. “It’s the first battle line in a larger war for purpose, for families, for the future of men.”
