…As Mutu Advocates Peace Among Party Leaders
By Chancel Bomadi Sunday
BOMADI, Delta State — The executive members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bomadi Local Government Area have paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu, the representative of Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, pledging their loyalty and commitment to uniting the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held in Warri and attended by some state-level APC officials, was described as a major step toward consolidating party unity in the local government area. The 27-member executive committee expressed their joy over the unification of the area’s political blocs under one platform.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Organizing Secretary, Mr. Ebikedoumene Erebor, said the visit was to reaffirm the party’s allegiance to Mutu, whom he described as the highest-ranking APC officeholder in the LGA.
“We deemed it necessary to embark on this familiarization visit to you, our leader. We are committed to working with you to ensure progress and unity in the party, especially at the grassroots level,” Erebor said.
The delegation also appealed for support to help address operational challenges at the local party secretariat.
“We want to inform you that the party secretariat is facing some pressing challenges. We kindly seek your assistance to enable us to function effectively,” he added.
The APC State Auditor, Dr. Paul Azorbo, who was present at the meeting, commended the local executive for their initiative, calling it a welcome move toward strengthening the party’s cohesion in the area.
“Today is one of my happiest days. This visit is a demonstration of responsibility and unity. I encourage you to maintain this path of cooperation and extend the same hand of fellowship to other leaders in the LGA,” Azorbo said.
In his response, Hon. Mutu expressed appreciation for the visit and praised the executives for their show of solidarity.
Quoting from the Bible (Psalm 28:5 and Psalm 107), Mutu emphasized his reliance on God and said unity was key to the party’s success moving forward.
“I thank God Almighty and I thank you for the honour of this visit. The merger of PDP structures into APC in Delta State is clearly divine. God wants all Deltans to be united under one family,” he said.
He reiterated his commitment to supporting the party and urged the executives to maintain peaceful relations with all political leaders across the local government area.
“My message is one of peace. Let us work together as one family. There is an important task ahead — we must ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori win convincingly in our LGA come 2027. This time, we must be the first to deliver a bulk vote,” Mutu stressed.
The high point of the meeting was the formal passage of a vote of confidence in President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori. The motion was moved by Mr. Ebikedoumene Erebor and seconded by Comrade Emmanuel D. Promise, Assistant Youth Leader. It was unanimously adopted by all members present.
The visit marked a renewed commitment to party unity and strategic planning toward success in the 2027 general elections.
