In a significant development, the Federal Government has successfully mediated a resolution between Sterling Oil Exploration Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), effectively ending their ongoing dispute.
Both parties have expressed their commitment to fostering mutual respect and long-term collaboration, emphasizing the importance of addressing issues internally and proactively in the future.
Sources in Abuja report that the constructive agreement was reached on June 4, 2025, following collaborative discussions facilitated by the Federal Government. The resolution highlights Sterling Oil’s commitment to regulatory compliance, capacity building for Nigerian professionals, and maintaining open lines of communication with stakeholders.
Sterling Oil has extended its gratitude to PENGASSAN leadership, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), and NNPC Limited for their instrumental roles in achieving this fair and progressive agreement.
This resolution is seen as a positive step towards enhancing trust and cooperation within the industry. Sterling Oil remains dedicated to contributing to Nigeria’s energy development through sustainable practices and collaborative efforts with relevant unions.
