A non-profit organization, the Dolly Children Foundation, committed to ensuring equal access to quality education has provided academic support to over 23,000 children across six states in Nigeria.

The foundation, since its establishment in 2009 has driven transformative change through its literacy-focused interventions, school infrastructure upgrades, and holistic child development programs in Ogun, Abuja, Oyo, Enugu, Taraba, and Lagos respectively.

One of its flagship initiatives are Reading Clubs, which have improved literacy outcomes for over 15,460 children, and the Dolly After School Program, which provides critical academic support and enrichment activities designed to retain children in school and help them thrive.

In a statement issued by the founder of the Dolly Children Foundation, Mrs. Adedolapo Osuntuyi stated that “Many children are unaware of their rights or the transformative power of education because poverty has continued to rob countless students of the opportunity to learn.

Osuntiyi noted that “Our programs are not just about keeping them in school, but to open doors to new possibilities and a brighter future. the foundation plans to scale up its scholarship schemes and free-tuition school initiative, offering educational pathways that extend through to university level.

Her words “We have an upcoming project tagged ‘Edufuture Conference’, a premier platform for education innovation, advocacy, and action in Africa. The conference will serve as a convening ground for policymakers, educators, and changemakers, driving progress toward SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

“The foundation has also partnered with health and social service providers to offer free health screenings, mental health counseling, and trauma recovery services. Art therapy through painting, music, and storytelling are tools used to help children heal, build confidence, and express themselves creatively. She stated.

Osuntiyi further noted, “Beyond direct programming, the foundation is also a strong voice in community advocacy. It actively commemorates international days such as the International Day of Education and the World Day Against Child Labour to raise awareness and push for inclusive education policies. The foundation also launched the Dolly Champions Football Club, established in 2025 to foster teamwork, discipline, and leadership among children in underserved communities.
