Abuja-based real estate Co Founder of Besitz Group Mr Michael Onyeachor has received international recognition after emerging as winner of the Global Excellence Award for Innovative Real Estate Development. The honour, conferred by an international urban development body, celebrates the his efforts in pushing the boundaries of sustainable and community-focused real estate solutions in Nigeria.

Speaking on the recognition, the co-founder of Besitz Group Michael Onyeachor, described the award as a defining moment for him, the company and the Nigerian real estate sector at large.

“We’ve always believed that real estate can do more than provide shelter—it can shape communities, inspire progress, and reflect culture. This award affirms that belief and the direction we’ve taken. It’s not just a win for us, it’s a win for the future of Nigerian cities,” Onyeachor stated.

Onyeachor further noted that the group’s flagship project, Capital City, played a pivotal role in the win. The development transformed an underutilized space in Abuja into a model eco-district, integrating smart infrastructure, green architecture, and spaces tailored to modern Nigerian living. He said the project reflects the company’s commitment to building not just homes, but inclusive and sustainable environments.

In a separate statement, the company’s representative explained that the success was built on three key pillars: innovation, sustainability, and community engagement.

“Our strategy was to work closely with local artisans and architectural creatives to develop something uniquely Nigerian. We also invested in advanced technologies like AI-driven property analytics and virtual reality tools to anticipate market demands and deliver superior living experiences,” the representative said.

The company believes the global recognition will bolster its drive to make real estate more inclusive and accessible, particularly in fast-developing areas like Abuja. According to the group, the award will serve as a foundation to accelerate its mission of reducing Nigeria’s housing deficit and reaching underserved communities.

“This will push us further in democratizing real estate investment. It’s no longer a concept for the elite; it should be available to all Nigerians. We also hope to use this credibility to influence policy and promote sustainable urbanization,” the co-founder added.

Besitz Group also emphasized the importance of team effort in achieving the milestone, praising the contributions of co-founder Isa Abass Usman and staff from both Abuja and Port Harcourt branches.

“From architects who blend tradition with innovation, to our dedicated sales teams and international partners, every member of the Besitz family played a role. Our company thrives on the principle of Ubuntu—‘I am because we are.’ That spirit drives everything we do,” the statement read.

On what the award should communicate to the real estate industry and clients, the company noted that excellence and integrity remain non-negotiable in its operations.

“To our clients: we don’t just deliver buildings; we invest in your legacy. To the industry: Abuja is a fertile ground for bold, people-first innovations. This award reminds us all that African excellence is not only possible—it’s necessary,” it stated.

Offering advice to aspiring organizations, the founder urged businesses to remain grounded in purpose.

“Start by solving real problems in your immediate environment. Excellence is not about global attention—it’s about consistent local impact. Build with intention, embrace technology, and never lose your human touch,” Onyeachor said.

The recognition is expected to boost Besitz Group’s credibility, drive future expansion efforts, and position Abuja as a growing hub for innovative and sustainable urban development.
