Jobred, PLP Africa, Lagos State partner to train 10,000 youth on digital skills

In a landmark initiative to advance digital inclusion and youth employability, Jobred and Power Learn Project Africa (PLP) have partnered with the Lagos State Ministry of Innovation, Science & Technology (MIST) to train 10,000 young Nigerians in high-demand digital skills. The initiative, valued at $250,000, is designed to bridge the digital skills gap and position Lagos as a leading hub for tech talent across Africa.

On the programme highlights, the Co-Founder, Jobred and Country Manager, PLP Africa, Ajo Balogun said, “Participants will be equipped with globally competitive skills in Data Science, Web Development, Job-readiness and other critical digital competencies”.

She said further that the training which targets youths between the age of 18 and 35 with a valid LASRRA ID and access to a working laptop and internet access will last for four months, offering them a comprehensive and immersive learning experience”.

Continuing, Balogun said that upon completion, learners will receive internationally recognized certifications including Information Technology Specialist and Adobe Certified Professional credentials.

Again, she said, “Providing 10,000 young Nigerians with digital skills for the future of work and pathways to economic independence will definitely bridge the ICT skill gap, and also build a pipeline of skilled talent to meet the growing demand in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem”.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to unlocking opportunities for Nigerian youth through technology. We are proud to collaborate with MIST to empower 10,000 future-ready professionals.
