Through her brand, IBK Clothiers, she’s helping clients make bold, refined statements with every outfit, blending contemporary design with authentic African essence.
Driven by a her love for creativity and styling, Omowunmi’s journey into fashion design began not just as a career choice, but as a personal mission to help people express themselves confidently through what they wear. “Seeing how clothes boost confidence inspired me. I wanted to help people express themselves through fashion,” she says.
“I believe everything happens at the right time. I’ve grown, improved my craft, and built a brand I’m proud of,” she adds.
Her label, IBK Clothiers, embodies elegance, confidence, and cultural pride. Known for blending modern silhouettes with African designs, Omowunmi’s designs are tailored for stylish men and women who appreciate quality craftsmanship and fashion that tells a story.
One of her standout pieces ‘a sleek, modern boubou dress’ has become her best-seller. “It’s popular because it blends tradition with a fresh, classy look. Clients love how it stands out at events while still feeling comfortable and powerful,” she explains.
Behind her refined designs lies a thoughtful creative process. From drawing inspiration in culture and nature to meticulously choosing fabrics and fitting final pieces, each step is intentional. “Every piece reflects quality and style,” she notes.
Despite launching without the backing of a large budget, Omowunmi has successfully grown her brand through social media and word-of-mouth. “It’s been a rewarding journey. Consistency and creativity helped me connect with amazing clients.”
Her dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed. One of her proudest moments was when a client wearing her piece at a major event attracted new interest in the brand. “It felt like a breakthrough,” she recalls. “It showed me the impact of my work.”
Looking ahead, Omowunmi envisions IBK Clothiers becoming an international brand, collaborating with global fashion houses, and contributing to sustainability in fashion. With plans for a flagship store and initiatives to empower young designers, her ambitions are as bold as her designs.
