Eid-al-Adha: Reps minority caucus greets Muslims, urges reflection on sacrifice and unity

The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha, calling on citizens to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and unity exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace Be Upon Him).

In a Sallah message jointly signed by Rep. O.K. Chinda (Minority Leader), Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Isa J.C (Minority Whip), Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madaki (Deputy Minority Leader), and Rt. Hon. George Ozodinobi (Deputy Minority Whip), the caucus urged Nigerians to imbibe the spiritual lessons of the festival to help address the nation’s economic, social, and security challenges.

“This act of worship and sacrifice exhibited by the Prophet has become a reference point for all of mankind in how we are to obey and serve God Almighty at all times and in all conditions,” the statement read.

The lawmakers noted that the Eid-al-Adha celebration unites people globally and serves as a reminder of shared humanity. They encouraged Nigerians to uphold the virtues of faith, empathy, generosity, and selflessness.

As Muslims celebrate across the country, the caucus offered prayers for national peace and progress, urging political leaders to prioritise the well-being of the people in the spirit of the season.
