Edo Ogwashi-Uku elects new youth body as youth commissioner, Obi of Ogwashi-Uku urges Peaceful coexistence

The community of Edo Ogwashi-Uku has welcomed a new youth executive body, elected to spearhead the development and progress of the area after thee electoral committee, headed by Chairman Mr. Onyejioweaka Ikechuwu and Secretary Mr. Okonkwo Chinedu, ensured a smooth and transparent process, with all eligible youths participating in the election.

The Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. ThankGod Harry Trakiriowei, attended the election and charged the newly elected leaders to be good ambassadors of the state.

The election, which was conducted in a free and fair manner, saw the emergence of Mr. Mordi Chukwuma from Unaoko quarter as the youth chairman, along with other members of his executive.

The newly elected executive members include:Ifewekwuna Onyeka (Agidie quarter) as Vice Chairman,Okonkwor Japhet (Agidiese Quarter) as Secretary,Obi Chinenye (Agidiese Quarter) as Vice Secretary,Okafor Onyisi (Agidiese) as Welfare and Okonkwor Shadrack (Agiliese) as Treasure

In his remarks, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security in the community, urging the youths to work together to achieve their goals.

He also called on the new executive members to support the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, noting that the governor’s leadership has brought numerous benefits to the state.

The Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, HRM Obi Ifechukwude Okonjo II, represented by Prince Fredenal, echoed the Commissioner’s sentiments, advising the youths to shun violence and embrace peaceful coexistence. The monarch urged the youths to be good citizens and contribute positively to the community’s development.

The newly elected youth chairman, Mr. Mordi Chukwuma, expressed gratitude to the community for the trust placed in them and pledged to work tirelessly to promote the welfare and interests of the youths.

With the support of the Commissioner, the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, and the state government, the new youth executive body is poised to make a positive impact in Edo Ogwashi-Uku.

The Commissioner also warned against imposters parading as youth executives, stating that those found impersonating would be arrested by the ministry.

As the election came to a close, the community members gathered to congratulate the newly elected executive members and pledge their support.
