In a landmark move set to redefine the welfare and economic empowerment of its members, the Association of Market Women/Men, Farmers & Youth of Nigeria (NAMWMF-YON) has forged a strategic partnership with Sterling Bank and Alternative Bank.
The groundbreaking ceremony, marked by an atmosphere of optimism and shared vision, signals a new era of support and opportunities for the association’s extensive network.
The event was graced by key figures, including Mr. Tunde Adeola, the Executive Director of Sterling Bank, Erelu Dr Becky Olubukola, National President of the Association, and Chief Mrs. Raimi Titilope Juliana, the National Matron of NAMWMF-YON, alongside prominent members of the Central Working Committee (CWC) such as Engr. Ayodele, Hon. Gbolagbade, and Mrs. Loveth Ayodele, as well as various state coordinators.
The partnership aims to address the multifaceted needs of NAMWMF-YON members, ranging from financial inclusion and business growth to healthcare and community development. Associations like NAMWMF-YON play a crucial role in the socio-economic fabric of Nigeria, providing a platform for collaboration, advocacy, and mutual support among its members.
By partnering with financial institutions, these associations can unlock access to resources and services that would otherwise be out of reach for many small-scale entrepreneurs and farmers. The benefits package, unveiled by the National President of NAMWMF-YON, Erelu Dr. Becky Olubukola, is a testament to the association’s commitment to its members’ well-being. “Our vision is to create a supportive ecosystem where every member has the opportunity to thrive,” stated Erelu Dr. Becky Olubukola during the ceremony. “This partnership is a significant step towards realizing that vision.”
The comprehensive welfare package includes a range of impactful benefits designed to improve the livelihoods, business prospects, and overall quality of life for NAMWMF-YON members. One of the most significant benefits is the zero-charge bank account, offering members a 100% fee-free banking experience. Mr. Tunde Adeola, Executive Director of Sterling Bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion: “We believe that access to banking services should not be a burden, but rather a tool for empowerment.
By eliminating fees and charges, we are encouraging more people to save and invest in their future.” Additionally, the partnership will provide access to SME funds at single-digit interest rates, agro support and mechanization tools, student loans, artisan empowerment programs, tricycle and EV ownership programs, healthcare hubs, and comprehensive health insurance coverage. Chief Mrs. Raimi Titilope Juliana, the National Matron of NAMWMF-YON, expressed her enthusiasm for the health insurance initiative: “Health is wealth, and we want to ensure that our members have access to quality healthcare when they need it most. This health insurance package will provide peace of mind and protect our members from financial hardship due to medical expenses.”
This collaboration between NAMWMF-YON, Sterling Bank, and Alternative Bank represents a pioneering approach to community development and economic empowerment. By combining the strengths of a grassroots association with the resources and expertise of leading financial institutions, this partnership has the potential to create a ripple effect of positive change across Nigeria.
