ABUJA — Development expert and grassroots mobiliser, Hon. Prince Chinedu Nsofor, popularly known as “Kpakpando Ndigbo,” has formally declared his intention to contest the Anambra South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a declaration ceremony held on Friday, June 21, 2025, Nsofor described his aspiration as a “divine assignment” dedicated to driving socio-economic transformation in Anambra South and reviving the fortunes of the wider Igbo nation.

“It is with profound humility and unwavering faith in God that I declare my intention to serve as Senator for Anambra South. This is more than a political ambition; it is a divine assignment,” he said.

Nsofor, who hails from Ekwusigo Local Government Area, unveiled a robust legislative agenda focused on industrialization, youth empowerment, education, and cultural preservation. He pledged to sponsor over 100 transformative bills aimed at addressing regional development challenges.

Some of the proposed bills include:

Community Production Venture Commission Act

Value-Added Raw Materials Optimization Act

Federal Igbo Apprenticeship System Bill

Southeast University of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition Bill

He also proposed establishing the Igbo Development Bank, to be headquartered in Nnewi, to finance indigenous businesses and diaspora-led investments.

As part of his constituency project blueprint, Nsofor promised to:

Launch the Anambra South Industrial Revolution Project

Institutionalize the Igbo Apprenticeship System

Create Agro-Industrial Mega Zones in cassava, rice, and palm oil processing

Establish Tech Innovation Hubs across the seven LGAs in Anambra South

Build the Africa International Shopping Mall (AISM) in Nnewi

Set up Local Export Certification Centers and a Diaspora Investment Portal

He also proposed a dual-mode vocational training system linked with foreign industry partners to foster youth employability and technology transfer.

Nsofor is the CEO of the Work While in School Group and National Coordinator of the Igbo Heroes Foundation. His previous engagements include working with the Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal Road Safety Corps, and Innoson Kiara Academy. He is a recipient of several honours, including the UNN Leadership Excellence Award.

“My goal is to turn Anambra South into Nigeria’s model for industrial growth, youth employment, and grassroots-led development,” he stated.

He vowed to champion transparency, inclusive governance, and data-driven policymaking as hallmarks of his legislative style.

In a passionate appeal to constituents and the larger Igbo community, Nsofor urged support for what he termed a “Divine Intervention Movement.”

“Fellow sons and daughters of Anambra South, this is our time. I invite you to join this movement. Together, we will reshape our destiny.”

According to campaign insiders, Nsofor’s senatorial bid will be driven by a unique blend of faith, competence, and cultural pride—anchoring what he calls “a new dawn for Anambra South and the Igbo nation.”
