2027: Delta North APC passes vote of confidence in Tinubu, Oborevwori, Nwoko

The serene community of Idumuje-Ugboko in Aniocha North Local Government Area came alive over the weekend as it played host to a major political convergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta North.

The meeting, held at the renowned Mount Ned Resort, witnessed a large turnout of party stakeholders from across the nine local government areas in the senatorial district. It climaxed with a unanimous vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Ned Nwoko, the lawmaker representing Delta North in the National Assembly.

The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Hon. Nicholas Ossai, a former member of the House of Representatives for Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, and seconded by Chief Felix Ndukwe, a party stalwart from Oshimili North. The session was presided over by Delta APC Chairman, Chief Omeni Sobotie.

Participants at the gathering praised the impact of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Governor Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, and Senator Nwoko’s legislative contributions, emphasizing their positive influence on the lives of constituents.

In his address, Senator Nwoko reaffirmed his dedication to public service and reiterated his support for President Tinubu’s administration.

“This government means well for all Nigerians. We must all continue to support it through cooperation and collaboration,” he said.

Nwoko also emphasized his commitment to the creation of Anioma State, expressing confidence that the long-standing dream was closer to becoming a reality.

“Anioma State is possible. The majority of people in Delta North support it. We have the goodwill of the President and the support of the National Assembly,” he said, revealing that a Senate public hearing on the Anioma State bill is scheduled for July 4–5 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

He described the statehood push as a call for justice and equity, not a quest for personal glory.

“I stand for history and equity. This is a compelling movement for our common good,” he declared.

Other prominent voices at the meeting—including Delta North APC Chairman Chief Eluaka Adizue; former Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei; Engineer Doris Oboh; Hon. Olise Imegwu; Chief Emma Ejiofor; and Hon. Moses Kamaya—called for unity and cohesion within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dignitaries in attendance included Hon. Ngozi Okolie (Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency), Barr. Chiedu Ebie (Chairman, NDDC Board), Chief Emmanuel Eboh, Dr. (Mrs.) Anthonia Ashiedu, Chief (Mrs.) Adaora Giwa-Amu, Mrs. Mercy Almona Isei, Dr. Tony Nwaka, Hon. Chamberlain Dunkwu, and Chief Johnson Opone (former President-General, Ndokwa Neku Union), among others.
