Members of the Sheriffication Movement (TSM)—the first support group established to champion the governorship ambition of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori—converged last Sunday at the country home of the late Hon. Barr. Tim Kome Owhefere, KSC, for a general meeting marked by political reflection, strategic planning, and renewed commitment to the Governor’s M.O.R.E Agenda.
The gathering commenced with a solemn one-minute silence in honour of the late Owhefere, a respected legislator remembered for his legislative brilliance and lasting contributions to Delta State’s political development.
In his address, the Director-General of TSM and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media & Strategy, Comr. (Dr.) Palmer Ogheneyole Nathaniel, stated that the meeting aimed to present the Governor’s two-year scorecard and to brief members on critical political developments in the state.
Dr. Palmer praised Governor Oborevwori for his impactful leadership, asserting that by 2031, the Governor’s legacy would be unmatched.
“Governor Oborevwori has, within 24 months, demonstrated purposeful, people-centered leadership through the M.O.R.E Agenda—Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security,” he said.
He highlighted key achievements, including: The N78 billion Warri-Effurun flyover network, The dualization of major roads, Major progress on the Ughelli–Asaba highway, Completion of Phase 1 of the Emevor-Orogun Road and near-completion of Phase 2, Delivery of over 1,500km of roads and 957km of drainage systems across the state
On education, he noted: Establishment of a College of Health Technology in Ovrode, Renaming and expansion of the university in Ozoro to accommodate more faculties and a new campus in Oroerokpe, Payment of bursaries to over 60,000 students, Recruitment of over 3,000 teachers and lecturers
Dr. Palmer also addressed reforms in the civil service and security: “We’ve improved staff welfare through salary increments, prompt promotions, arrears payments, and provided new utility vehicles for senior officials,” he noted.
He added that the administration had donated 31 operational vehicles to security agencies, set up a State Peace-Building Council, and promoted stability in oil-producing communities.
On human capital development, he cited initiatives such as the MORE Grant Scheme, D-CARES, and WESAP, which have supported over 250,000 Deltans. Other achievements include a new High Court complex, modern housing schemes, and progressive laws on child rights, renewable energy, and urban planning.
Dr. Palmer emphasized that the group’s alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC) was a strategic move aimed at connecting Delta State with progress at the national level:
“In April 2025, our Governor made a bold political move by aligning with the ruling APC, signaling a new era of cooperation and accelerated development.”
The meeting featured goodwill messages from party stalwarts. Hon. Godiva Ugbo praised Dr. Palmer as: “A rare political force whose dedication has transformed TSM into a formidable bloc in Isoko Nation.”
The APC Chairman of Emevor Ward 7, Hon. Karo Oghogho Phillip, described him as: “A bridge-builder, tireless mobilizer, and loyal lieutenant of the Governor. Emevor is proud to have him.”
In honour of Hon. Owhefere’s legacy, Dr. Palmer declared: “This residence will continue to host high-profile political meetings in tribute to a man who taught us that politics is service and legacy. His spirit lives on.”
The highlight of the event was the symbolic motion declaring “No vacancy in Osadebe House till 2031”, moved by the Delta South Coordinator of TSM, Hon. Wesley Uwaboufu, and seconded by Delta Central’s Hon. Chief Owopele Ebi.
Over 200 members from the three senatorial districts attended the meeting, further strengthening the group’s support for the Governor’s second-term ambition.
