Oladayo Williams, Program Executive at Tetracore Group, has been elected Vice Chairman of the Power Sector Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), marking a pivotal step in his ongoing commitment to advancing Nigeria’s power landscape. His appointment, announced during the recently concluded General Meeting and elections of the chamber, will see him serve alongside newly appointed Chairman Olufemi Bakare for a two-year term.
Oladayo brings a wealth of experience from his work at Tetracore Group—an integrated energy solutions provider with a robust and increasing energy portfolio (natural gas and power delivery) across the energy landscape in Nigeria and a growing footprint within the African continent. With a strong track record in energy program development and policy advocacy, spanning more than 15 years, Williams is poised to play a critical role in driving private sector collaboration and policy engagement across the nation’s power value chain.
In his new role, Oladayo is expected to deepen strategic alliances between industry players, regulators, and consumers, particularly around alternative energy solutions and grid decentralization. Speaking shortly after his election, he emphasized the importance of coordinated stakeholder action to bridge the country’s energy access and supply gaps.
“Electricity is at the core of national development. We must continue to create practical pathways for both grid and off-grid solutions to thrive. The Chamber gives us the platform to articulate private sector concerns and propose policy reforms that can unlock efficiency and investment,” Oladayo said.
He highlighted the growing importance of gas-to-power solutions, renewable integration, and embedded generation models as key themes for the Power Sector Group’s agenda over the coming years. Oladayo, who has worked on several on/ offgrid energy projects across the country, also stressed the need to rethink energy infrastructure planning in line with Nigeria’s rapid urbanization.
“In areas like Lagos, demand often outpaces infrastructure development. We must plan for power like we plan for housing and transportation—proactively and sustainably,” he noted.
Oladayo and Chairman Bakare plan to spearhead initiatives aimed at promoting energy literacy among consumers, supporting investment-friendly regulatory reforms, and encouraging the use of data and technology in energy planning. As part of this agenda, the Power Sector Group will facilitate regular dialogue with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN and other key stakeholders.
As Vice Chairman, Oladayo will help steer the Chamber’s advocacy, policy, and capacity-building efforts in the sector. His vision aligns closely with Tetracore’s mission of bridging energy access gaps through innovation and collaboration, making his appointment a promising signal for Nigeria’s evolving power sector.
