The people of the Ntu-egbenese Clan, spanning several local government areas across Enugu West and Enugu East Senatorial Zones, have thrown their full support behind Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, declaring that “there is no vacancy in the Lion Building come 2027.”
In a congratulatory message marking Governor Mbah’s two years in office, His Royal Majesty Igwe Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, Ubojene II of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom and Akajiofo of the Ntu-egbenese Clan, hailed the governor for restoring hope and delivering real development to communities that had long been neglected.
Igwe Ogbonna highlighted the resolution of a 25-year-old traditional leadership crisis in Ogugu as one of the administration’s most significant interventions. He described the move as a “bold and historic step” that brought peace and unity back to the community.
The monarch also noted that a modern Type 2 Primary Health Care Centre is under construction in Ogugu, bringing much-needed healthcare closer to the grassroots.
“For the first time in many years, our sick and elderly will no longer have to travel long distances to access basic health services,” he said.
Beyond healthcare, Igwe Ogbonna applauded the state government’s empowerment of over 20 sons and daughters of the Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Kingdom through employment in various government agencies. He further revealed that a native of the community now serves as a commissioner in the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), a development he described as a clear indication of inclusivity.
The statement also celebrated various other projects across the 32 communities that make up the Ntu-egbenese Clan, including road construction, clean water initiatives, and the development of a new residential estate in Agbogugu.
“Governor Mbah is doing the work many before him only promised,” the royal father asserted.
He noted that the improved infrastructure has enhanced access to markets, schools, and farmlands, thus boosting economic activities and increasing public trust in governance.
“Our farmers can now move their goods with ease. Our children go to school on better roads. Clean water and other basic services are reaching areas forgotten for decades. Enugu is wearing a new look under Governor Mbah’s watch.”
Reaffirming the clan’s unwavering loyalty, the monarch declared: “On behalf of the Ntu-egbenese Clan, we declare that we are proud of Governor Mbah. His style of leadership has brought back the people’s confidence in government. Come 2027, there is no vacancy in Lion Building. Governor Mbah will have only himself to contest with.”
The statement concluded with a pledge of continued support from the Ntu-egbenese people, emphasizing their readiness to partner with the governor in delivering more developmental milestones in the years ahead.
