By Johnbosco Agbakwuru

ABUJA — IN a determined effort to strengthen Africa’s climate innovation frontier, Nigerian climate-tech leader Netzence Sustainability Limited has officially launched its regional operations in Ghana.

This marks a strategic expansion in Netzence Sustainability Limited’s mission to combat climate change through innovative technology solutions.

According to Chief Operating Officer of Netzence, Ms. Idia Okundaye, the new office, located in Osu-Accra, will serve as a hub for driving sustainable development initiatives across West Africa, building on the company’s successful track record in Nigeria where it pioneered real-time carbon emission tracking and climate action programs.

She said: “Africa’s climate challenges demand collaborative, homegrown solutions.

“Our expansion into Ghana represents more than just physical presence, it’s a commitment to fostering regional partnerships that will accelerate the transition to a net-zero future across the continent.”

She further explained that the Ghana office will focus on three key areas: which are: Carbon Monitoring Technology: Deployment of Netzence’s proprietary systems for real-time emission tracking. Clean Energy Partnerships: Collaboration with local organizations including the Ghana Clean Cook Organisation and Capacity Development: Replicating Nigeria’s successful training programs for climate professionals.

Okundaye noted that: “Ghana’s progressive climate policies and vibrant innovation ecosystem make it the ideal location for our regional expansion.

“We’re particularly excited about opportunities to work with local startups and youth innovators through programs modelled after our successful GreenTech Accelerator in Nigeria.”

The expansion is coming on the heels of several landmark achievements for the Nigerian-headquartered company.

Some of the remarkable achievements include: Receiving Nigeria’s Presidential Award in Innovation & Sustainability. Securing a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU with EHCON for deployment of 9,500 emission monitoring devices and successful carbon credit monetization for Mainstream Energy Solutions

The Netzence Chief Operating Officer said: “This is a natural next step in our pan-African vision. Just as we’ve demonstrated in Nigeria, we believe technology and local expertise can transform climate challenges into economic opportunities. Our goal is to make Ghana a showcase for sustainable innovation in West Africa.”

She said that the company officially inaugurated the Ghana operations with a series of stakeholder engagements and youth innovation challenges in April 2025.
