Ahead of this year’s hosting of Global Excellence Summit and Awards (GESA) 2025, scheduled to hold between May 23 and 24, 2025, in Lagos, the organisers have stated that the event is designed as a movement to promote Africa as a continent of excellence in the global space.
This disclosure was made by Ambassador (Dr) Fatoumatta Gaye during a media event highlighting the details and importance of the gathering, which will attract among others visionaries, diplomats, political and business leaders as well as seasoned administrators and celebrities from across Africa and the globe.
According to Gaye, who is the Convener of GESA 2025, and Vice Chairperson of the AU Agenda 2063 Women and Gender Committee and CEO of Top3 Solutions, “This is not just an event—it’s a movement to position Africa as a global force for excellence. We are honouring those who are transforming systems and inspiring progress across the continent.”
The Global Excellence Summit and Awards (GESA) 2025, is in partnership with the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, United Nations International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC), Nigeria-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Inc., and the International Society of Diplomats.
This year’s theme is: “Global Excellence in Diplomacy and Leadership: Africa’s Path to Prosperity,” and it is expected to foster high-level conversations on diplomacy, governance, international trade, investment, innovation, gender equity, and sustainable development.
Some of the highlights of the two days gathering include; The summit section, which is slated for day one and will feature among others keynote addresses by global and regional leaders, exhibitions and innovation, leadership and diplomacy master classes while day two features include; Awards Gala night – Global Excellence Awards; AU Women Impact Awards; and He-for-She Honours for Male Allies
Some of the listed dignitaries are; Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of State for Labour and Employment; Justice Mainasara Ibrahim Kogo Umar, Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal and the High Commissioners from The Gambia, Zambia, Sierra Leone.
