EHA Clinics yesterday unveiled Dr. Ifunanya Ilodibe as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking her as the first non-founding and first female CEO in the clinic’s history.

Dr. Ilodibe, a seasoned physician with over 14 years of experience in clinical practice, healthcare operations, and quality management, is expected to provide strategic and operational leadership focused on people-centered care, health systems strengthening, and sustainable innovation.

Her journey at EHA Clinics began in October 2019 as Practice and Quality Assurance Manager. She later rose through the ranks to hold several senior positions, including Executive Vice President, Clinical Services and Chief Medical Officer, before her appointment as CEO in May 2025, succeeding the Founder and former CEO, Adam Thompson.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Abuja, Dr. Ilodibe, who holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Medical Sciences and Medicine and Surgery, expressed her gratitude and commitment to transformative leadership.

“Standing before you here today as your first non-founding CEO of this remarkable organization is certainly an incredible honor and a profound responsibility. I am deeply humbled by the trust that has been placed upon me by the board and by all of you,” she said.

She emphasized that EHA Clinics is more than just a healthcare provider, describing it as an institution solving complex human problems with far-reaching impacts.

Dr. Ilodibe outlined her vision to transform healthcare from a point of contact into a platform for empowerment, ensuring that every patient—regardless of their location, income, or background—receives consistent, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Dr. Ilodibe detailed her strategic plan for the next phase of EHA Clinics’ growth, which includes:

Technology Integration – Harnessing digital health tools to connect patients to care quickly and conveniently, generate data for improved patient outcomes, and equip healthcare workers with the knowledge and support needed for safe and consistent care.

Expansion of Care Hubs – Establishing more accessible care hubs to broaden healthcare reach.

Community Trust and Engagement – Building stronger community ties through culturally competent care and local partnerships.

Investment in Talent – Empowering staff to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.

Advocacy for Health Equity – Pushing for policies that prioritize prevention, access, and health equity.

“We are at a unique moment. Healthcare is evolving, but our mission remains constant—to serve, to uplift, and to heal,” she affirmed.

Dr. Ilodibe pledged to lead with boldness, humility, and a commitment to continuous learning, while building on the foundation laid by her predecessor.

Dr. Ilodibe paid tribute to her mentor and outgoing CEO, Adam Thompson, describing him as a visionary leader who set the foundation for quality, high-performing primary care.

“You showed that quality healthcare can and must be brought closer to the people, especially those who need it the most, who are often overlooked and underserved,” she said.

She acknowledged his boldness, compassion, and innovative spirit, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to continue building on his legacy. “It is on your shoulders that I now stand, ready to build the next chapter of our shared mission,” she added.

Speaking earlier, Adam Thompson reflected on his journey as CEO, describing it as an exciting part of his career. He shared how the initial vision was to deliver quality primary care but grew into building an entire system from the ground up.

“Dr. Ifunanya Ilodibe was there to take the reins, to help lead a lot of the foundational work that we did in building a quality system and a patient-centric healthcare model. I couldn’t be happier to hand over this role to someone far more capable, who I believe will lead us into the future,” Thompson stated.

Top executives at EHA Clinics, including the Vice President of Business Development, Abdukareem Iyamu, Chief Operating Officer, Paul Hogan, and Group Chief Financial Officer, Babatunde Ojo, expressed confidence in Dr. Ilodibe’s leadership.

They noted that under her guidance, EHA Clinics would further strengthen quality assurance systems, scale service delivery, and deepen integration across its locations.

“We believe she will drive the clinics to even greater heights, enhancing patient care and expanding our reach,” they affirmed.
