Arewa leader Alhaji Musa Saidu has called on Nigeria  political leaders to draw a lesson from the honor accorded late Chief Edwin Clark in death.

Saidu who participated in nearly all the stages of the funeral for the late elder statesman said he marvelled at the crowd that came to honour Pa Clark on the day of his final interment at his Kiagbodo hometown in Burutu local government area, Delta state.

He said the love shown Clark in death was another clear testimony that Nigerians appreciate and celebrate patriotic leaders like Chief Clark.

He thanked the Ijaw National Congress, INC,  governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state , his Delta state counterpart governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the governor of Bauchi state Bala Mohammed for  for all they did during the funeral. He also thanked  President Bola Tinubu who was represented by  the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume.

He said : ” I thank Nigerians for the honour they gave Chief Pa Edwin Clark in death. He stood for the truth and the vulnerable . The burial showed that all we do we are rewarded first on earth.

“I have not seen a funeral with such large attendance from all over the country. I commend Ijaw National Congress for the role they played in the funeral of Pa Edwin Clark. We advise Nigerians to learn a lesson from Clark.

“His burial has shown that people appreciate all we do on earth.  See the support to actualize his dream to build the St Paul’s Anglican church in his Kiagbodo community. How donations flood in for the project all because of the love for the man Pa Clark. They all wanted to see that his vision to build a new worship centre was realized.

” I appeal to our leaders  to give their best to the nation at all times. The reward for such patriotic act begins on earth first.

“I was part of the burial . I followed the corpse from Yenagoa in Bayelsa state  to Warri, Delta state and then to Kiagbodo Chief Clark’s hometown.

” Papa Clark taught us to be steadfast,  to fight for the poor. And we will not disappoint him.”
