Nigerian philanthropist and girl child education advocate Mrs. Loveth Rowland Onyekachi has been honored with the United Nations Eminent Peace Award.
Mrs. Rowland, who is the Founder of the Loveth Rowland Care Foundation, was decorated and presented with the prestigious award in faraway Minnesota, United States of America, alongside other awardees, in recognition for her philanthropic gestures and activities geared towards promoting girl child and women’s education both in Nigeria and beyond.
The awardee expressed her excitement at being considered for this significant and prestigious award, which recognizes her contributions to fostering a better society.
The recipient, who is also a Certified Senior Human resources expert and a Licensed Independent Financial Professional further opined that this award will spur her to do more, especially in promoting girl child education and the initiation of programs geared towards empowering women and curtailing poverty.
In her speech, she informed that through her foundation, over 400 girls have been supported in their primary and high school education.
Also, she noted that her foundation has also carried out programs that aim to provide skills and empowerment to widows and orphans, especially girls.
The renowned philanthropist who has in the past been recognised for her impressive humanitarian activities expressed her joy for the huge honour bestowed on her at the global stage and has promised to do more through her charity foundation to improve the lives of the less privileged and support girl child education in Nigeria and beyond.
She further thanked the United Nations for what she described as a tremendous honor.
She promised to further do more through her foundation to provide much-needed support to women and girls using her charity foundation.
