…condemns killings in Benue, Plateau

ABUJA – AS Nigerians join the rest of the world to celebrate Easter, the Founder, Voice for Less Privileged Organisation, VOLPO, Dr Ego-Queen Ezuma, yesterday, urged young people to exercise faith in Christ following His vicarious death, burial and resurrection.
Speaking on the essence of the Easter Celebration, on the heels of having the lent from Ash Wednesday March 5-April 17, Ezuma said the impact has been positive on Christians who embarked on the fasting, and made them committed followers of the Lord.
She said: “My advice to young people is to trust the Lord Jesus Christ, believe in Him because my Bible says that he that promised is faithful and cannot lie because Jesus does not lie and he is not a liar. So, because you need faith and trust and confidence in God, you can never fail. No matter the situation in the country, no matter what you look at, God is more than that.
“He can save you when you have faith and confidence in the Lord and believe that he that promised is faithful, you will overcome, put it into practice by learning handwork, being busy, working because faith without work is dead. So, the youth should engage themselves in something serious, and I remove their eyes and minds from hard drugs.
However, she called on the Federal Government to do more to end the barbaric killings in Benue and Plateau States, as women and children have been killed and displaced, therefore bearing the major brunt of the deadly and coordinated attacks.
“To say the least, it is still that lack of knowledge and trust in the Lord. Because the Lord has said, “Thou shall not kill”, but now, killings, even killing a cow and chicken is more revered than human beings. What happened in Benue and Plateau is not good, it’s condemnable and also an abomination, especially, some of these attacks take place during the night time, and women and children don’t know where to start to defend themselves and how they are to be protected.
“So, the government should do something about it because you cannot tell me that these things are happening and nobody knows what is going on because this is not the first time, and people will always go for a revenge mission.
“Government should provide them with enough security, and all the vigilante groups, they should also assist to protect these vulnerable sets of Nigerians from these attacks”, she added.
