Chairman of Okpurughre Progressive Network, OPN, Paul Okpurughre has challenged Christian faithfuls to practically demonstrate their Christian faith, which is anchored on love and exemplify sacrifice and selflessness that motivated Jesus Christ to die for the emancipation of mankind.
Okpurughre in an Easter message this morning, noted that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was a call for every one to imitate the steps of Jesus Chris, so that the world can be a better and peaceful place.
The ace philanthropist felicitated with Christians on the celebration of Easter, urging them to emulate Jesus Christ by making sacrifices that will advance the course of development in their various communities.
He commended Christian faithfuls and indeed all Nigerians for their abiding faith in God and commitment to peace, unity and progress of the country, in line with the spirit of the season despite the troubled times.
In his statement, the OPN chairman said that that Easter exemplifies the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ to save mankind, noting that as individuals, Christians must take into consideration the welfare of others, and taking steps to positively affect others.
He called on Christians and Nigerians in general to re-dedicate themselves to the service of God and their fatherland as they reflect on the ideals of Good Friday and Easter Celebration.
While wishing the people a joyful celebration Okpurughre said: “ as we celebrate the death and resurrections of our lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, it’s my earnest expectation that the blessings and benefits of the season will empower us all to be better examples and shining Christians”.
