As Christians across the globe mark the Easter celebration, Senator Ede Dafinone has extended warm greetings to the Christian community in Delta Central Senatorial District, Delta State, and Nigeria at large, urging believers to reflect deeply on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and emulate His virtues in their daily lives.
In a goodwill Easter message made available on Saturday, the Delta Central lawmaker described Easter as a sacred and solemn season that reminds Christians of the supreme price paid by Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind. According to him, Christ’s death and resurrection symbolize hope, redemption, and the promise of eternal life.
Dafinone, while felicitating with Christians, emphasized the importance of embracing the values of love, sacrifice, humility, and forgiveness, which were exemplified in the life and death of Jesus Christ. He said the Easter celebration should go beyond festivities and serve as a moment of sober reflection and spiritual renewal.
“Easter is not just a time to rejoice, but also a period to reflect on the profound significance of Christ’s resurrection,” the Senator stated. “His selfless act of laying down His life for humanity teaches us compassion, unity, and the need to serve others without expectation.”
He called on Christians and all Nigerians to promote peace and mutual understanding across ethnic and religious divides. According to Dafinone, the resurrection of Christ should inspire a renewed commitment to nation-building and community service among citizens.
The Senator further noted that the country stands to benefit immensely if citizens imbibe the spirit of kindness and tolerance, especially in a period when the nation continues to grapple with economic, social, and security challenges. He urged Nigerians to rise above their differences and work together for a better future.
While commending the Christian faithful for their unwavering faith and resilience, Dafinone reiterated his belief in the power of collective goodwill in shaping a united and progressive Nigeria. He expressed hope that the Easter message of new life would rekindle hope among Nigerians, especially the youth.
He prayed for the blessings of the season to be upon all families, and encouraged constituents in Delta Central to uphold their faith in God and remain steadfast in their contributions to societal growth.
“Let this Easter be a turning point for us all,” Dafinone said. “May it bring healing to our land, and may the triumph of Christ over death inspire us to triumph over adversity, hatred, and division.”
Senator Dafinone concluded his message by wishing all Christians a joyful Easter celebration filled with peace, renewed faith, and divine grace.
