SEEPCO responds to PENGASSAN concerns, reaffirms commitment to employee welfare

Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) has reaffirmed its commitment to employee welfare and corporate responsibility in response to concerns raised by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).

In a statement, SEEPCO assured that it remains compliant with the collective bargaining agreement with PENGASSAN, the Industrial Act, and all relevant Nigerian laws.

The company emphasised its dedication to maintaining high standards in labour relations, environmental sustainability, and corporate governance.

SEEPCO refuted claims that misrepresent its workplace policies, asserting that it has consistently worked with labour unions, including PENGASSAN, to uphold a fair and supportive work environment.

The company reiterated its commitment to dialogue, urging all stakeholders to engage through appropriate channels to address concerns constructively.

As one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing indigenous oil and gas firms, SEEPCO highlighted its contributions to economic development, local job creation, and energy security. The company also pointed to its investments in local content initiatives, employee development through sports promotion, and community projects aimed at improving quality of life.

SEEPCO called for continued engagement with PENGASSAN and relevant parties in good faith, stating that it remains open to discussions while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in its operations.
