The Regent Secondary School,Abuja,has attributed its recent rating as outstanding among the nine categories of British Schools Overseas,BSO, to the commitment of its students, teachers, staff and Board.
The feat which was recorded following the judgement of BSO inspectors, has made the school become the first secondary school in West Africa to be judged ‘Outstanding’ across all nine categories by British Schools Overseas.
It said the recognition reflects the high standards it upholds, adding that it was a
testament to the dedication of its students and staff jointly.
Principal of the school,Philip Reynolds,who conveyed his school’s excitement while receiving the inspectors’ report, acknowledged that Regent Secondary School,Abuja,has made an unprecedented milestone.
The principal hailed the students, teachers, staff and the Board for consistently striving for excellence.
While assuring that the school will continue to provide world-class learning experience, he noted that this achievement would not have been possible without the “support of our parents and guardians, who have entrusted us with the education and well-being of their children.
“This recognition reflects the high standards we uphold at The Regent Secondary School Abuja. It is a proud moment for our school community and a testament to the dedication of our students and staff”.
The Principal described the achievement as “a defining milestone”, adding that “achieving Outstanding in all nine categories highlights our unwavering commitment to excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement”.
According to him, the school’s achievements reflect not only its commitment to academic excellence but also the strength of its inclusive, nurturing community.
The team of British Schools Overseas inspectors was led by Dr. Mark Evans.
The inspection was commissioned by the UK Department for Education (DfE) in England to inspect and accredit British international schools outside of the UK.
Schools inspected by BSO are judged against the following nine standards: quality of education provided; spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of pupils; welfare, health, and safety of pupils; suitability of staff, supply staff, and proprietors; premises and accommodation; provision of information to parents; handling of complaints and grievances; leadership and management and boarding provision.
