Omo-Agege poised for 2027 victory – APC chieftain, Oharume

By Paul Olayemi

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Olorogun (Dr.) Abel Izomare Oharume, has declared Deputy Senate President (DSP) Ovie Omo-Agege the undisputed face of opposition politics in the state, expressing confidence in his victory come 2027.

In a strongly worded statement, Oharume dismissed any potential challenger to Omo-Agege, asserting that no force—political or otherwise, could stop his emergence as Delta State’s next governor.

He described leadership as a divine gift earned through hard work, emphasizing that Omo-Agege’s track record speaks for itself. According to him, “The former senator’s unwavering commitment, political resilience, and proven leadership have solidified his support among Delta’s youth, who are determined to rally behind him for the Osadebe House battle in 2027.”

Addressing recent political speculations, Oharume debunked claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has distanced himself from Omo-Agege, dismissing them as mere fabrications by detractors. He further stated that allegations of dictatorial leadership against Omo-Agege are baseless, highlighting the APC leader’s remarkable achievements, including securing two senators, a House of Representatives member, and several House of Assembly members for the party.

Oharume reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to dislodging the PDP from Delta State, pledging that the party will secure victory at all levels—including the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats—in 2027. He called for party unity, urging genuine progressives to align with the APC’s vision to ensure a resounding triumph in the upcoming elections.

He said: “As an individual, I have been an ardent advocate for Delta State’s liberation from the PDP administration’s malfeasance since 2001. My extensive involvement in the state’s politics has granted me a profound understanding of its complexities.

“Given the substantial sacrifices, financial investments, and resources I have committed to this cause, I am no longer surprised by anything. Omo-Agege will emerge victorious by the special grace of God.

“Omo-Agege has a formidable and dedicated team of foot soldiers willing to make immense sacrifices to ensure his triumph in 2027. As a result, we remain undaunted by the recent superficial political maneuverings in Delta State.

“We have exerted considerable effort to foster unity among those who genuinely desire our party’s progress, but we cannot exceed our authority.

“We will not sacrifice Omo-Agege’s leadership style for the benefit of another inexperienced and unproductive individual. This misinformed individual has been circulating false information, claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declined to receive Omo-Agege at Aso Rock following the 2023 general election.”
