
On Saturday, March 8, the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly hosted a groundbreaking virtual event to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The event, streamed live via Zoom and YouTube, brought together a powerhouse lineup of speakers, thought leaders, and change-makers dedicated to empowering African women and driving economic and social transformation across the continent.
The session was convened by Amb. Dr. Fatoumatta Gaye, a Gambian-born business consultant, senior investment advisor, and entrepreneur who serves as the Vice Chairperson for Women and Gender.
In her opening remarks, Amb. Dr. Gaye emphasized the critical role of investing in women to accelerate progress and build a resilient, inclusive future for Africa.
“Today, we stand united to amplify the voices of every African woman, ensuring that no need is left unmet,” she declared.
Co-hosted by Efe Ose, a dynamic strategy, operations, and learning specialist, the event featured sessions on key topics such as international trade, financial empowerment, mental health, technology innovation, and leadership. Speakers included distinguished figures such as:

• Olufemi Boyede, CITP, an authority on non-oil export development.
