ONITSHA – Mrs. MaryCynthia Ogechukwu Nnanuelugo has made a desperate plea for assistance in locating her husband, Hyginus Arinze Nnanuelugo, who has been missing since July 11, 2024, following his abduction by gunmen in Onitsha.
She urged relevant authorities to help trace her husband—dead or alive—lamenting that his prolonged disappearance had left her in distress.
In an affidavit sworn at the Law Chambers of Sir Ben Chudi Izuegbu Esq., a Notary Public, a copy of which was made available to newsmen, Mrs. Nnanuelugo recounted how heavily armed gunmen abducted her husband around 8:30 p.m. on July 11 at Onoja Oboli Street, opposite Modebe Secondary School, Odoakpu, Onitsha, Anambra State. The attackers seized both her husband and his gold-colored Lexus RX 300 Jeep (Registration No. FGG 693 HC). Since then, neither he nor the vehicle has been seen.
According to the affidavit, her husband was driving home to No. 36 Sanniez Street, Odoakpu, when the assailants, operating in a tricycle, blocked his path and took him away along with his vehicle.
Providing further details, she disclosed the vehicle’s Engine No. (1MZ*4371507) and Chassis No. (MCU10-0052334), appealing to security agencies for urgent intervention. She lamented that his absence had brought great hardship upon their family.
Mrs. Nnanuelugo also obtained a police extract from Fegge Police Division in Onitsha at about 1:20 p.m. on July 12, 2024, confirming that her husband and his vehicle were officially declared missing. The extract reiterated that he was abducted by armed men who used a tricycle to block his car before taking him away.
To further publicize the incident, she paid ₦35,000 for spot announcements on Radio Sapientia, as evidenced by a receipt dated July 23, 2024.
“I am appealing to the federal and state governments, individuals, and human rights organizations to assist me in finding my husband,” she pleaded.
