The Christian Science Churches in Lagos have reaffirmed that the only lasting solution to the nation’s challenges lies in fully embracing Jesus Christ, who alone can lift Nigeria out of its current difficulties.

In a statement signed by Mr. Emmanuel Umoh, a member of the Joint Lecture Committee, and made available to Vanguard Newspaper, the church announced its annual public lecture, scheduled for Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, located at Fagba Bus Stop, off Iju Road, Lagos.

According to the statement, by following Jesus’ example and understanding the divine relationship between individuals and God, many have experienced healing—from physical and mental ailments to financial hardship and even societal injustices.

The statement reads: “All of God’s creations are governed by divine Love and its healing power—including us. Through His lessons and sermons, Christ Jesus demonstrated the healing power of God, divine Love. He also illustrated the relationship between God and humanity, and His teachings remain deeply relevant today.

“This lecture will provide Nigerians with profound insights into how they can better emulate Christ Jesus. By deepening their understanding of their relationship with God—Divine Love—they can experience healing in all areas of life, whether physical, mental, financial, or societal.

“The transformative power of Divine Love brings restoration and renewal. This understanding fosters goodwill, strengthens communities, and ultimately contributes to a more harmonious and prosperous society.”

The guest speaker, Mr. James Bikai, C.S.B., will deliver an in-depth lecture on the theme: ‘The Healing Power of Divine Love’.
