ABUJA – Axis of Hope Initiative (AXHOI) has empowered women entrepreneurs in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with financial support and business mentorship to enhance their independence.
The initiative aims to alleviate financial struggles among vulnerable women, break cycles of poverty, and foster sustainable livelihoods.
As part of its efforts, AXHOI partnered with PL Mentorship Club to host Parents Connect 2.0: Mindset Shift, a programme equipping parents with skills to raise resilient children.
AXHOI Board Chairman, Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem, highlighted the organisation’s commitment to economic empowerment as a tool for strengthening families and communities.
“We are committed to improving lives through sustainable, community-driven programmes in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment,” Mgbudem said.
During the programme, cash donations were given to women in Jahi to support small businesses and household stability. AXHOI also provided seed funding and business monitoring to help beneficiaries build sustainable enterprises and achieve financial security.
“Empowering women benefits families, communities, and society,” Mgbudem stated.
AXHOI works in vulnerable communities, implementing interventions in education, healthcare, and social inclusion. Its initiatives include entrepreneurship training, maternal and child health awareness, and gender equality advocacy. The partnership with PL Mentorship Club underscores the link between financial stability and strong family values, bringing together parents, educators, community leaders, and policymakers.
“We have empowered households by promoting entrepreneurship, reducing maternal and child mortality through health awareness, and improving education and social inclusion,” he added.
By prioritising transparency, accountability, and gender sensitivity, AXHOI drives social change towards a more inclusive and economically empowered society.
“Financial independence is key to resilience. AXHOI’s women empowerment programme provides seed funding and business monitoring to lift women out of economic dependency and build sustainable livelihoods,” Mgbudem said.
