JALINGO – Major stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State have resolved to work together in a bid to unseat the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general election.

The meeting, convened by former Ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Hassan Ardo Jika, focused on reconciliation and strengthening the party’s opposition stance ahead of the next polls.

Speaking to journalists via telephone after the meeting, Jika expressed optimism about the party’s renewed unity and commitment to offering an alternative leadership for the state.

“I can confirm to you that the APC in Taraba is finally on the right track. We held a mega meeting this evening with a national official among us, and the outcome is quite encouraging,” he stated.

“All stakeholders have resolved to work together, forgive one another, and move past old grievances. As you are aware, we have had internal challenges since the last primaries, but today marks a turning point for us.”

While most key figures of the party were present, Jika noted that Senator Emmanuel Bwacha and Yusuf Ahmed were absent from the meeting.

The APC spokesperson in Taraba, Aaron Artimas, confirmed that the meeting was part of a series of reconciliation efforts that had been ongoing since the last general election.

He acknowledged the difficulty of uniting party members but expressed confidence that the APC was now more formidable than ever.
