ENUGU — Senator Kelvin Chukwu, representing Enugu East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has denied claims that he resigned from the Labour Party. In a statement issued through his Chief of Staff, Hon. Eneh Victor Chigozie, the Senator discredited the circulating resignation letter as fake and urged the public to disregard it.
Chukwu condemned the letter as a “deliberate act of misinformation aimed at misleading the public and causing unnecessary confusion.” He affirmed his continued commitment to the Labour Party and rejected the letter as an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“The letter is entirely fake and did not originate from Senator Kelvin Chukwu or his office,” the statement read. “It is a handiwork of mischief-makers and political adversaries seeking to undermine the Senator’s position.”
The Senator’s office also expressed concern over potential forgery, stating that the perpetrators might be using the forged letterhead and signature to deceive the public or engage in fraudulent activities.
Senator Chukwu’s office has already filed a petition with relevant security agencies to investigate and apprehend those responsible for the forgery.
In a broader context, the statement highlighted that some individuals who were involved in the murder of Barrister Oyibo Chukwu, the Senator’s elder brother, may be behind the malicious campaign to discredit him.
Supporters of Senator Chukwu and members of the Labour Party have been urged to remain calm as security agencies investigate the matter.
