Nigerian newspapers review: Japa, underfunding, inefficiency undermining public hospitals

In today’s Nigerian newspapers review programme, Today in the News, Vanguard leads with a report on the effects of migration, otherwise known as Japa, underfunding and inefficiency in public hospitals across the country.

One headline captures President Bola Tinubu and French President Emmanuel Macron eulogising the former chief executive officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, following the first anniversary of the helicopter crash which killed Wigwe, his wife and son and others.

Also, another headline says manufacturers are faulting the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) for the 15 per cent hike in port charges.

The Punch’s biggest story looks at the minimum wage and how states’ salaries have risen by 90 per cent to N3.8 trillion.

Finally, The Nation’s top story says the federal government is targeting the capital market to fund infrastructure.
